Stop shopping and start running.
We’re a couple that used to run together.
Now, she runs. I sometimes try to catch up.
She has tall arches. I have low (no) arches.
They say opposites attract…
We got tired of looking for the “best” running shoes and constant comparison shopping. We created a list to track the shoes we wanted.
Then we started a list to track shoes the “experts” wanted, i.e., pro athletes, Runners World, etc. (We should want to try all those shoes, too. Right?)
In general, the standard lifespan of running shoes is around 300-500 miles or 500-800 km.
Lighter shoes may have even shorter lifespans. And every shoe is different. Just like every runner is different. So, the mileage of your shoes will vary.
Our goal is to give you a good sense of what those miles are likely to cost on average. To do that, we use the standard baseline of 300 miles or 500 km.
No pain, no gain should apply to sore muscles. Not your feet. Or your wallet. And you should spend more time running than comparison shopping.
If you have a great local running store, please support them. If not, we’re here for you.
Get your perfect running shoes.
